Confront Ernie Eves Tonight
September 15, 2003
6pm
CityPulse News Studio - Corner of Queen and John
After tip-toeing around the perimeter of Ontario's biggest city during his first two weeks of campaigning, Ernie Eves has finally decided to make an appearance in Toronto. At 6pm, Eves is set to give a live interview on CityPulse, from the CityTV news studio at the corner of Queen and John St.
On this corner and along Queen St., homeless and street kids panhandle everyday. This is one of places where the Tories' "Safe Streets Act" has been felt most strongly, with the constant ticketing of squeegee kids and harassment of the poor that has been enforced since its legislation. In his campaign platform, Eves has promised with shadowy language that corners like Queen and John will be "cleansed" if his party is re-elected. We'll say it once again: This Government Must Be Defeated.
OCAP is calling on all allies to join us tonight in confronting Eves on a turf he has no business stepping foot on. Be outside CityTV at 6pm. Help us in making sure that when Eves sweats tonight, it won't be from the studio lights.
